869 57th St. Brooklyn
Brooklyn, New York
Architect: Raymond Chen Architect
Facility: Residence
Status: Under Construction
HPL engineer designed this 6 story Condo building with a cellar in Brooklyn NYC. The lot is 60’X100’ with full cellar for parking and storage, 60’x100’ basement(1’ below ground level) for parking and community room, as well as driveway, The 1st floor is used as medical facility and 60'x60’ from 2nd floor to 5th floor for apartments and an elevator stair bulkhead above. The total construction area is about 35,400sqft. The building was designed as poured in place concrete with spread footings. Since there are both side adjacent party wall building footings are higher than the new cellar column foundations, careful design to set back foundation walls while maintain adjacent footing intact was a real challenge. The layout of columns and transfer girders were carefully designed to coordinate with apartment layout requirements in up floors and parking and community facility use in lower floors.
